Female Support Worker required to assist a 44 year old wheelchair user living with a muscle weakness called SMA.
I'm currently looking mainly for someone to do Mondays 10.30am-12.30pm and Fridays 10am-12.30 but there is also opportunities to cover other shifts (morning and evening) when other carers are unavailable. There also could be a weekend morning coming up in the near future.
I'm looking for a lively, compassionate female to join my team of carers to support me to live independently within my family home. I live with my husband (who has his own disability) and our 10 year old son.
Roles include:
- Assisting with transfers using a sliding board
- Help with getting dressed
- Help with keeping the home clean and tidy and other basic home tasks
- Assistance with meal preparation
- Occasionally accompanying me on a trip to the shop or school runs
- Occasional errands
What I'm looking for:
- Someone who understands the family dynamics and can be flexible, quick to adapt and knows when to take a back seat
- Someone who is compassionate, caring and promotes indepence
- Must have transport to get to our house in a village on the outskirts of Leamington spa (no public transport available)
- Someone who is empathetic and aware of differences
- Someone able to follow instructions well as well as use their initiative
- Must be DBS checked (I can organise this)
Pay: £14.10 per hour
