Role Overview
The Front of House Team Leader supports the Supervisors in delivering excellent customer service and smooth daily operations within a busy garden centre restaurant. This role leads the FOH team during service, ensures high standards of cleanliness and customer care, and acts up in the Supervisor’s absence. It is suited to someone confident, organised, and experienced in leading a team in a fast‑paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Front of House team during service, ensuring a friendly, efficient customer experience
- Support Supervisors with daily operations and act up when required
- Welcome customers, manage queues, and maintain a positive atmosphere
- Clear and reset tables promptly to maintain a clean dining area
- Take payments accurately and operate tills confidently
- Ensure excellent standards of customer service at all times
- Monitor allergen information, food safety practices, and general H&S awareness
- Communicate effectively with kitchen and FOH teams to ensure smooth service
- Support with training new staff and guiding junior team members
- Maintain cleanliness across FOH areas, including floors, counters, and self‑service stations
- Assist with opening and closing duties as required
- Report any customer issues, maintenance concerns, or incidents promptly
Skills & Experience
Essential:
- Previous experience leading or supervising a team
- Strong customer service skills and a friendly, professional manner
- Good awareness of Health & Safety, food hygiene, and allergen procedures
- Ability to work efficiently in a busy, fast‑paced environment
- Confident using tills and handling payments
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently when needed
Desirable:
- Experience in hospitality, retail, or similar customer‑facing environments
- Basic food hygiene certification
- Experience in garden centre or daytime catering settings

Pay: £18,855.00-£19,220.00 per year
