We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Assistant Psychologist to join our Clinical Health Psychology and Neuropsychology Department, based at Charing Cross Hospital in Hammersmith.
This is a varied role which offers an excellent opportunity to work with adults living with a variety of neurological and physical health conditions.
The post holder will be supported to develop skills in psychological and neuropsychological assessment, formulation and intervention (e.g. cognitive rehabilitation and cognitive behavioural therapies). There are also opportunities to be involved in teaching, audit and service-related research projects.
The post holder will be provided with clinical experience, regular supervision and continued professional development opportunities that are particularly relevant to aspiring Clinical Psychologists.
The post holder will support colleagues with their direct and indirect clinical work, service evaluation and development projects, as appropriate. The main duties of the role include:
Administering and scoring neuropsychological tests and questionnaires, using obtained information to contribute to neuropsychological assessment reports alongside qualified members of staff.
Supporting the delivery of 1:1 cognitive rehabilitation sessions, focused on memory strategies and other relevant techniques.
Supporting the delivery of evidence-based individual and group psychological interventions with individuals living with long-term health conditions.
Liaising with multidisciplinary colleagues regarding individuals cognitive and psychological status as required.
Supporting the development, delivery and evaluation of teaching and training.
Administrative tasks such as monitoring the availability of neuropsychological test forms and compiling or developing resources and self-help materials.
Conducting literature searches, service-related projects and audits under supervision.
Using supervision appropriately and working within the remit of the role and professional competencies.
