Job Summary
Part time (3 days) - building to full time.
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior CAD Designer specialising in kitchen design to join us. In this role, you will assist in creating precise, innovative, and functional kitchen layouts and visualisations that meet client specifications and project requirements. This is an exciting opportunity for emerging designers eager to develop their skills in CAD software and contribute to high-quality kitchen projects from concept to completion. You will collaborate closely with senior designers, project managers, and clients to bring inspiring kitchen ideas to life through detailed technical drawings and 3D models.
Duties
- Develop accurate 2D drawings and 3D models of kitchen layouts using CAD software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Rhinoceros 3D, and Revit.
- Assist in creating detailed visual presentations utilising Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Creative Suite tools to communicate design concepts effectively.
- Support project management tasks by maintaining organised records, tracking revisions, and adhering to project timelines.
- Collaborate with senior designers to refine designs based on client feedback, technical constraints, and construction requirements.
- Contribute to the preparation of construction documents, ensuring compliance with industry standards and specifications.
- Participate in site visits when needed to gather measurements, verify existing conditions, and support construction coordination.
- Stay updated on industry trends, new software features, and best practices in kitchen design and CAD modeling.
Requirements
- Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, Rhinoceros 3D, or similar programs.
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite tools like Photoshop for rendering and presentation purposes.
- Basic understanding of construction processes related to kitchen installations and cabinetry.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage numerous projects.
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with team members and clients effectively.
- Knowledge of project management principles is a plus.
- Prior experience or coursework related to interior design or cabinetry is preferred but not mandatory.
