Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our second-fix, interiors, and construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing project costs, preparing budgets, reviewing supplier and subcontractor quotations, and ensuring financial control across interior fit-out and second-fix packages.
This role is ideal for someone with strong knowledge of construction costs, procurement, joinery, finishes, FF&E, and second-fix works. The candidate should be able to work closely with project managers, designers, suppliers, subcontractors, and clients to ensure projects are delivered within budget, on time, and to the required specification.
Responsibilities
Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and quotations for second-fix and interior fit-out projects.
Review drawings, specifications, schedules, and FF&E packages to prepare accurate cost breakdowns.
Monitor project costs throughout the project lifecycle and identify any potential cost overruns at an early stage.
Manage supplier and subcontractor quotations, compare prices, negotiate costs, and finalise procurement options.
Assist with tendering processes, bid evaluations, and contract negotiations for second-fix works.
Track variations, changes, and additional works, ensuring all costs are properly recorded and approved.
Work closely with project managers, designers, architects, site teams, suppliers, and clients to ensure specifications are delivered within budget.
Provide value engineering advice to improve cost efficiency without compromising quality or design intent.
Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, supplier quotations, invoices, variations, and project financial documents.
Support procurement planning for joinery, kitchens, wardrobes, doors, sanitaryware, lighting, flooring, ironmongery, and other second-fix items.
Prepare cost reports and financial updates for management and project teams.
Ensure all works are aligned with client requirements, approved drawings, and agreed budgets.
Requirements
Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or similar role within construction, interiors, fit-out, or second-fix works.
Strong understanding of second-fix packages, including joinery, kitchens, wardrobes, doors, bathrooms, flooring, lighting, finishes, and FF&E.
Good knowledge of cost control, budgeting, procurement, and supplier/subcontractor management.
Ability to read and understand drawings, specifications, schedules, and design packages.
Experience in managing multiple projects at the same time.
Strong negotiation skills with suppliers, subcontractors, and clients.
Good understanding of construction processes, materials, and project delivery.
Proficiency in software such as Excel, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, or other industry-standard tools.
Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative project team.
Pay: £33,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
