Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Waitress/Barista to join our vibrant team. This role involves delivering excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment, preparing and serving a variety of beverages and light food items. The ideal candidate will have a passion for coffee and be barista trained, food safety awareness, and the ability to create a welcoming atmosphere for all guests. Previous experience in barista work or serving is essential, training will also be provided. This position offers an opportunity to develop skills in hospitality while working in a lively setting.
Duties
- Take orders from customers accurately and efficiently, ensuring prompt service
- Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including speciality coffees and teas
- Assist with food preparation and presentation as required
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, tables, and service areas to uphold hygiene standards
- Handle cash transactions accurately using the till system
- Provide excellent customer service by engaging with guests politely and professionally
- Restock supplies and ensure all equipment is functioning correctly
- Follow food safety procedures at all times to ensure compliance with health regulations
- Manage time effectively during busy periods to serve all customers promptly
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a barista or server is essential however training will be provided
- Knowledge of food safety standards is preferred
- Basic maths skills for handling payments and balancing tills
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage time efficiently during peak hours
- Excellent communication skills and a friendly demeanour
- Ability to work well under pressure in a very busy environment
- Flexibility to work shifts including weekends and evenings as required
