Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to join our busy hospitality team. This role is vital in maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment, supporting chefs and kitchen staff to deliver excellent service. The ideal candidate will be proactive, reliable, and eager to learn about food preparation and hospitality operations. This paid position offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience within a professional culinary setting.
Duties
- Washing and sanitising dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment to ensure hygiene standards are met
- Assisting with basic food preparation tasks under supervision
- Maintaining cleanliness of kitchen surfaces, floors, and storage areas throughout the shift
- Supporting the organisation of kitchen supplies and stock management
- Assisting with waste disposal and recycling procedures in accordance with health and safety regulations
- Helping with general cleaning duties in dining areas and service zones as required
- Supporting the team during busy service periods to ensure smooth operations
Requirements
- Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality environment is desirable but not essential; willingness to learn is key
- Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene standards
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Good organisational skills and reliability
- Flexibility to work shifts as required, including evenings and weekends if necessary
- A positive attitude and willingness to support team members in all aspects of kitchen operations
