Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Sonographer who can do Gynaecology Ultrasound scans to join our healthcare team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing diagnostic ultrasound examinations to assist in patient diagnosis and treatment. This role requires excellent communication skills, proficiency in IT systems, and the ability to teach and guide patients through procedures. The Sonographer will work closely with medical professionals to provide high-quality imaging services in a professional and compassionate manner.
Duties
- Conduct diagnostic ultrasound scans on patients across various medical specialities, including obstetrics, cardiology, and general imaging.
- Explain procedures clearly to patients, ensuring they are comfortable and informed throughout the process.
- Operate ultrasound equipment accurately and efficiently, maintaining high standards of image quality.
- Document findings meticulously and prepare reports for review by physicians or radiologists.
- Maintain and calibrate ultrasound machines regularly to ensure optimal performance.
- Assist in training junior staff or students in sonography techniques as required.
- Adhere to health and safety protocols, including infection control measures, to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
- Keep detailed records of examinations performed, ensuring compliance with data protection regulations.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Sonographer or in a similar diagnostic imaging role.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare professionals.
- Fluency in English, with excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Good IT skills, including familiarity with hospital information systems and digital imaging software.
- Ability to teach or guide patients through procedures with patience and clarity.
- Relevant professional qualifications recognised within the UK healthcare system (e.g., HCPC registration).
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Organised approach to managing workload efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
