Essential Requirements (Please Read Before Applying)
To be successful in this role, you must:
- Hold a Level 3 Diploma (or above) in Residential Childcare/Health & Social Care (or be willing to complete if applicable to the role).
- Have experience working with children or young people in a residential care, supported living or similar setting.
- Have a good understanding of trauma-informed practice, child development and the impact of adverse childhood experiences.
- Be passionate about helping children recover from trauma and achieve positive outcomes.
- Be able to work flexibly across a rolling shift pattern, including sleep-ins, evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
- Be committed to safeguarding children and successfully complete enhanced DBS, right to work and safer recruitment checks.
About the Role
Wild Orchid Therapeutic Services is looking for compassionate, resilient and therapeutically minded Support Workers to join our growing team.
As a Therapeutic Residential Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting children who have experienced trauma, helping them build positive relationships, develop resilience and achieve their full potential.
Working within a trauma-informed and social pedagogical model, you will provide consistent care, emotional support and therapeutic interventions that enable children to feel safe, valued and empowered.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality day-to-day care in a safe, nurturing and therapeutic home environment.
- Build trusting, positive relationships that promote emotional wellbeing, confidence and resilience.
- Support the implementation of individual care plans alongside therapists, education professionals and the wider multidisciplinary team.
- Encourage participation in educational, recreational and therapeutic activities that support holistic development.
- Support children to develop independence, life skills and positive social relationships.
- Respond calmly and confidently to behaviours of concern using trauma-informed and therapeutic approaches.
- Maintain accurate records, reports and documentation in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Promote safeguarding, health, wellbeing and positive outcomes at all times.
- Participate in regular supervision, reflective practice and ongoing professional development.
