Position: Forklift Driver
Job type: Full time, Permanent
Shift Pattern: Day shift, Monday – Fridays (occasional Saturday half days)
- Loading & unloading the glass orders into the company vehicles, adopting safe lifting and handling procedures at all times.
- Ensuring the next day deliveries are completed on time and loaded in the vehicles to ensure smooth operation the next day.
- Ensuring the work not completed by day shift loaders is completed during night shift.
- Working with the drivers to ensure all vehicles are loaded in a safe and efficient manner
- Using forklift to take out glass stillage racks and bringing in empty stillage racks.
- Maintain high levels of personal appearance, ensuring uniform and personal protective equipment are used correctly.
- Keeping the yard tidy and orderly at all times ensuring that there are no tripping hazards, or danger from falling or protruding items.
- Ensure that the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is worn at all times for example protective boots, high visibility jackets, helmets, masks and gloves as instructed by your supervisor.
- Observe strict adherence to the Company’s health and safety procedures at all times. In particular being careful in the use of equipment such as forklift trucks, vacuum lifers and loaders. The company’s set procedures for use of such equipment should be followed strictly at all times, to ensure the safety of yourself and other people using the yard.
Essential Requirements
