About Delphic Brewing Company:
Delphic Brewing Company is an independent brewery founded in 2019, producing everything from traditional ales to modern craft beers.
In July 2024, we opened our brewery and taproom in Newbury, which has become the hub of what we do – brewing, serving and sharing our freshest beers directly with the local community.
We brew on a small 500L kit, producing a core selection of beers alongside a regularly changing line-up of seasonal, limited-edition and one-off releases. Alongside the brewery and bar, our Pizza Kitchen serves freshly cooked pizzas and fries to our taproom customers.
We're a small team, so everyone plays their part in keeping things running smoothly and creating a friendly, welcoming experience for our customers.
The Role:
We're looking for a reliable, enthusiastic and hard-working person to join our Pizza Kitchen team.
You'll be responsible for preparing and cooking pizzas using our pre-made pizza bases, adding toppings to order and cooking pizzas and fries ready for serving.
This isn't a traditional chef position and extensive kitchen experience isn't essential. We're much more interested in finding someone who is organised, takes pride in doing things properly, can work independently and is happy to get stuck in wherever they're needed.
At busy times you'll need to work quickly and efficiently to keep orders moving. During quieter periods, we'll expect you to stay productive – cleaning, restocking, preparing for later service and helping the bar team where appropriate.
As a small independent business, we're looking for someone with a willing to muck in wherever needed kind of attitude.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Preparing pizzas to order using pre-made bases and our range of toppings.
- Cooking and serving pizzas and fries consistently and efficiently.
- Managing multiple food orders during busy periods.
- Completing kitchen opening and closing procedures and checklists.
- Carrying out food preparation and restocking ahead of and during service.
- Keeping the kitchen, equipment and food preparation areas clean and organised.
- Washing up, including kitchen equipment, utensils and other items used during service.
- Following food hygiene, allergen and food safety procedures at all times.
- Monitoring ingredient and packaging levels and letting managers know when stock is running low.
- Keeping productive during quieter periods by cleaning, organising, restocking and completing other useful tasks.
- Supporting the bar and taproom team when the kitchen is quiet and helping with general duties where required.
- Helping ensure the kitchen is properly cleaned, stocked and ready for the next service before finishing your shift.
What We're Looking For:
- Previous experience in a kitchen, takeaway, pub, restaurant or other food-service environment would be useful, but isn't essential.
- A willingness to learn – full training on our pizzas, equipment and kitchen procedures will be provided.
- Someone reliable and comfortable working independently.
- Good organisation and time-management skills.
- The ability to stay calm and work efficiently when several food orders arrive at once.
- Good standards of cleanliness and attention to detail.
- An understanding of basic food hygiene and allergen awareness is desirable.
- Previous Food Hygiene and/or Food Allergen Training desirable, training can be provided.
- A proactive attitude and willingness to find useful jobs to do rather than waiting to be given the next task.
- Someone happy to work as part of a small team and help colleagues outside the kitchen when required.
- A friendly and approachable attitude towards both customers and colleagues.
You don't need to be a trained chef or a pizza expert. If you're reliable, organised, willing to learn and happy to get stuck in, we'd love to hear from you.
