Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant/Cook to join our team. This role involves supporting food preparation and cooking activities within a busy kitchen environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for making enjoyable meals, a keen eye for food safety, and previouse experience is essential. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills in meal preparation and kitchen operations while contributing to the delivery of high-quality meals.
Duties
- Assist with food preparation, including chopping, peeling, and assembling ingredients
- Cook and prepare meals according to specified recipes and standards
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing dishes and sanitising surfaces
- Ensure all food safety regulations are adhered to at all times
- Support the team during busy service periods by serving meals and attending to customer needs
- Restock supplies and ingredients as required to ensure smooth kitchen operations
- Follow health and safety guidelines to prevent accidents and maintain a safe working environment
- Assist with inventory management, including checking stock levels and reporting shortages
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a kitchen or restaurant environment is desirable.
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques and cooking methods
- Understanding of food safety standards and hygiene practices
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail
- Friendly attitude with excellent teamwork skills
- Flexibility to work shifts as required, including weekends if necessary
- Food safety certificate.
