First Fix Carpenter – Loft Conversions, Roofing & Structural Carpentry

Pay: £220+ per day, with higher rates available for team leaders and site managers
My Project Group Ltd is looking for experienced first fix carpenters to join our growing team. We specialise in loft conversions, extensions, renovations, roofing, structural works and full design & build projects across Bristol and the surrounding areas.
This role is not second fix carpentry. We are looking for skilled, reliable and fully autonomous carpenters who are confident working on loft conversions, roofs, structural timber and external carpentry works.
The role will include:
- Loft conversion carpentry
- Cut roofs and roof structures
- Dormers
- Rafters, hips, valleys and joists
- Structural floor works
- Stud walls and internal timber framing
- Flat roofs
- Fascia and soffits
- Guttering-related carpentry works
- General external carpentry
- Timber preparation around steels, openings and structural works
- Reading drawings and working from site instructions
- Keeping work safe, tidy and to a high standard
You must have:
- Your own van
- Your own tools
- Strong first fix carpentry experience
- Experience in loft conversions, roofing and structural timber work
- The ability to work fully autonomously
- The ability to manage your own workload and complete tasks without constant supervision
- Good understanding of site safety
- Reliability, good attendance and pride in your work
- CIS registration preferred
- Portfolio or photos of previous work preferred
