We have an exciting opportunity to join a welcoming and supportive SEND school in St Albans as a SEND Support Assistant. This full-time role offers the chance to work in a nurturing and inclusive environment where every pupil is encouraged to achieve their full potential through personalised, engaging, and multi-sensory learning.
As a SEND Support Assistant, you will:

Provide 1:1 and/or small group support for pupils with a range of additional needs.

Support pupils with their learning, communication, social, and emotional development.

Assist pupils during therapy sessions and follow individual education and support plans.

Help prepare engaging learning resources and classroom activities.

Promote pupils' independence, confidence, and positive behaviour.

Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to meet each pupil's individual needs.

Help create a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment where every child can thrive.
We're looking for someone who:

Has previous experience working with children or young people within a UK educational setting.

Has experience as a SEND Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, Support Worker, or Care Assistant (desirable but not essential).

Holds an Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or is happy to apply for one.

Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Is patient, caring, proactive, and passionate about supporting children with additional needs.
