We’re now looking for an organised, detail‑driven and empathetic person to join our team as a Transitional Housing & Tenant Onboarding Coordinator a key role at the heart of our housing operations.
The Role
This position is ideal for someone with experience in Universal Credit, Housing Benefit, or DWP claim management who enjoys working with people and keeping systems running smoothly.
You’ll coordinate the onboarding of new tenants, manage all benefit applications, and make sure all housing and compliance paperwork is accurate, complete, and submitted on time.
Key Responsibilities
- Onboard new tenants into supported and transitional housing.
- Guide tenants through applications for Universal Credit, ESA, PIP, and Housing Benefit.
- Upload and manage claims through DWP and local authority systems.
- Liaise with tenants, support providers, housing officers, and local councils.
- Prepare tenancy agreements, move‑in packs, and compliance documentation.
- Keep detailed electronic records and ensure data accuracy across all systems.
- Track benefit claims and chase outstanding information where needed.
- Resolve issues with benefit payments or tenancy details quickly and professionally.
Skills & Experience
Essential:
- Solid working knowledge of Universal Credit, Housing Benefit, or DWP systems.
- Background in housing, supported accommodation, property management, or a similar environment.
- Strong administrative and organisational skills — able to handle multiple cases at once.
- Confident using IT systems, online portals, and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a calm, professional approach.
Desirable
- Familiarity with local authority housing procedures or welfare reform.
- Experience supporting vulnerable or high‑needs tenants.
- Understanding of GDPR, safeguarding, and compliance processes.
