Duties
- Safely operate HGV Class 2 lorries for delivery and collection of goods across designated routes
- Assist with loading and unloading cargo using appropriate equipment and techniques
- Ensure all deliveries are completed accurately and on schedule, adhering to delivery instructions
- Conduct pre-journey vehicle checks to confirm the safety and roadworthiness of the vehicle
- Maintain accurate documentation related to deliveries, including delivery notes and logs
- Comply with all health and safety regulations, including adherence to driving hours and tachograph rules
- Cover drivers holidays and sickness
Skills
- Valid HGV Class 2 licence with a clean driving record
- Delivery driver experience demonstrating punctuality and reliability
- Knowledge of safe loading/unloading procedures for flatbed transport
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in documentation and inventory management
- Good communication skills for liaising with team members and clients effectively
- Physically fit to handle manual tasks associated with loading/unloading cargo when needed
