We are seeking a professional HGV Class 1 Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods across various routes, ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining high standards of customer service. This role offers an excellent opportunity for experienced drivers with a strong focus on safety and reliability to contribute to our logistics operations.
Duties
- Operate flatbed lorries and other HGV vehicles in compliance with legal and company regulations
- Conduct pre-journey safety checks and ensure the vehicle is roadworthy before departure
- Deliver goods to various locations, must be on site for 8am
- Secure loads appropriately, especially when transporting flat items, ensuring safety during transit
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding schedules, delays, or issues encountered during routes
- Follow all health and safety procedures to ensure personal and public safety at all times
Qualifications
- Valid HGV Class 1 licence with a clean driving record
- Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly as a delivery driver
- Experience with flatbed transportation is highly desirable
- Strong understanding of road safety regulations and best practices in driving large vehicles
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage time effectively
- Good communication skills to liaise with clients and team members professionally
