Job Title: Waste Removal Operative / Driver

About the Role
Skip on Wheels is looking for a reliable, hard-working Waste Removal Operative / Driver to join the team.
You will begin with a structured training period working alongside the business owner to learn all aspects of the job. After training, you will take responsibility for completing waste removal jobs independently, following company systems and standards.
This role is ideal for someone physically fit, practical, confident driving a van and trailer, and able to work independently while delivering good customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect and remove household and commercial waste from customer properties
- Load and unload waste safely and efficiently
- Drive company van and operate vehicle safely at all times
- Tow trailer
- Transport waste to authorised recycling centres and disposal sites
- Follow all waste regulations and duty of care procedures
- Take before and after photos of jobs
- Keep accurate records of jobs completed and receipts
- Maintain cleanliness and basic care of van, trailer, and equipment
- Provide polite and professional customer service
- Report any issues, damages, or incidents immediately
Requirements
- Full UK driving licence
- Confident driving a van (trailer experience preferred)
- Physically fit and able to lift heavy items
- Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy
- Able to work independently once trained
- Good attitude with customers and general public
- Comfortable using a smartphone for photos, navigation, and communication
Training & Probation
- Initial training period working directly with the business owner
- Full system training provided (loading, tipping, customer process, pricing structure)
- Performance and reliability reviewed before confirmation of ongoing employment
