Join our dynamic team as a Wood Machinist and become a vital contributor to our manufacturing and fabrication processes. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up and operating woodworking machinery to produce high-quality timber products while maintaining excellent standards of safety, quality and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and maintain woodworking machinery, including saws, planers, moulders, spindle moulders.
- Read and interpret technical drawings and production specifications.
- Measure, cut, shape, and finish timber components to precise tolerances.
- Carry out routine machine checks and basic maintenance.
- Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work environment.
- Follow all health and safety procedures and company policies.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to meet production targets and deadlines.
Requirements
- Previous experience operating woodworking machinery in a manufacturing or joinery environment.
- Good understanding of timber materials and machining processes.
- Ability to read technical drawings and use measuring equipment accurately.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
- Good problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Forklift licence (desirable but not essential).
Pay: £14.00-£15.00 per hour
