The Role
We are seeking a compassionate, motivated, and experienced Senior Care Assistant to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who is passionate about dementia care and committed to delivering the highest standards of care while supporting and leading staff on shift.
As a Senior Care Assistant, you will play a key role in ensuring residents receive safe, effective, and person-centred care, whilst promoting their wellbeing and maintaining the highest professional standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support the care team during each shift.
- Deliver high-quality, person-centred care to residents living with dementia.
- Administer medication safely and accurately in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Complete care documentation and maintain accurate records.
- Support residents with personal care whilst promoting dignity, choice, and independence.
- Communicate effectively with residents, relatives, healthcare professionals, and colleagues.
- Report concerns and contribute to maintaining a safe and positive environment.
- Act as a role model, supporting and mentoring care staff where appropriate.
About You
The successful candidate will:
- Have previous experience working as a Senior Care Assistant within a residential or dementia care setting.
- Be compassionate, caring, reliable, and professional.
- Demonstrate excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Be able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Have a positive attitude and a genuine passion for providing outstanding care.
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 1 year's experience in a Senior Care Assistant or supervisory care role.
- Level 2 Safe Handling of Medication Certificate (essential).
- Right to work in the United Kingdom.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Flexibility to work a rota that includes weekends and bank holidays as required.
