Job Summary
We are seeking a talented and passionate Seasonal Chef to join our team for the summer period, this could be extended for the right candidate. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and cooking, with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced but small kitchen. This role offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your culinary skills while contributing to our traditional pub spirit. The Seasonal Chef will be responsible for preparing meals, maintaining food safety standards, and supporting the overall kitchen operations during the seasonal period.
Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and standards
- Assist in meal preparation for service, ensuring timely delivery of quality food
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, including washing dishes and sanitising work surfaces
- Follow food safety and hygiene regulations at all times
- Support inventory management by checking stock levels and notifying management of shortages.
- Assist with menu planning and presentation to enhance customer experience.
Experience
- Proven experience in food preparation and cooking within a professional kitchen environment
- Previous restaurant or hospitality experience is highly desirable
- Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in kitchen hygiene.
- Familiarity with various cooking techniques and culinary styles
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
