Hours: Full-time – 42 hours per week (4 or 5-day working week available)
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
About Us
We are a small, nurturing nursery set within a charming cottage, offering a genuine "home from home" environment for children, families, and our team. Our setting is built on warmth, kindness, positivity, and strong relationships, where every child and every member of staff is valued.
We believe every child deserves the very best start in life. Our baby room provides a calm, loving, and stimulating environment where secure attachments are at the heart of everything we do, supporting each child's individual development through play, exploration, and meaningful interactions.
The Role
We are looking for a passionate and experienced Senior Level 3 Early Years Practitioner to join our Baby Room team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced practitioner who is confident leading by example, supporting colleagues, and helping to maintain the highest standards of care and education for our youngest children.
Working alongside the Room Leader, you will play a key role in creating a nurturing environment where babies feel safe, secure, and encouraged to explore and develop at their own pace.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional care and learning experiences for babies aged 0–2 years.
- Build strong, secure attachments with children and develop positive partnerships with families.
- Support the Room Leader in the day-to-day running of the Baby Room.
- Lead by example, inspiring and supporting colleagues to deliver outstanding practice.
- Plan and implement engaging, age-appropriate activities that support each child's individual development.
- Complete high-quality observations, assessments, and learning journeys.
- Maintain a safe, clean, stimulating, and inclusive environment.
- Ensure safeguarding, health and safety, and nursery policies are consistently followed.
- Promote children's wellbeing, independence, and confidence through responsive and nurturing care.
What We're Looking For
- Level 3 (or above) qualification in Early Years.
- Experience working with babies in an Early Years setting.
- Previous experience in a senior practitioner role or someone ready to step up into a senior position.
- A sound understanding of the EYFS and child development.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- A caring, patient, and positive approach.
- A genuine passion for providing the highest quality care for babies.
- A reliable team player who enjoys supporting others and leading by example.
What We Offer
We believe that looking after our team is just as important as looking after our children. That's why we offer:
- A choice of a 4 or 5-day working week.
- 22 days annual leave, plus Bank Holidays.
- An additional day's annual leave after 5 years' service.
- Your birthday off to celebrate your special day.
- 30% childcare discount for staff.
- Access to the Wisdom Health & Wellbeing App, providing confidential support and wellbeing resources.
- Ongoing training and career progression opportunities.
- Regular team celebrations and social events.
- A supportive, friendly team where your ideas and contributions are valued.
- The opportunity to work in a beautiful cottage nursery with a genuine "home from home" atmosphere.
