Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Shift Leader to oversee daily operations within our Cafe. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a background in food production and hospitality, and a passion for delivering exceptional service. Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of staff during assigned shifts, ensuring smooth operation of the restaurant or food outlet.
- Oversee food preparation, cooking, serving, and presentation to meet quality standards.
- Manage daily operational tasks including inventory control, stock replenishment, and cleanliness.
- Enforce food safety regulations and hygiene standards in compliance with health and safety legislation.
- Provide training and guidance to team members on food handling, customer service, and safety procedures.
- Handle customer enquiries or complaints professionally, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Assist in scheduling staff shifts and managing labour costs effectively.
- Support management in implementing promotional activities or special events.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in food production, cooking, serving, or hospitality roles such as restaurant or kitchen experience.
- Previous supervising experience within a restaurant or catering environment.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide team members.
- Excellent knowledge of food safety standards and regulations.
- Familiarity with culinary techniques and food preparation processes.
- Experience with customer service excellence and conflict resolution.
- Barista experience is desirable but not essential; however, familiarity with beverage preparation is advantageous.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving with organisational skills to manage multiple priorities effectively.
