Salary: £170 to £200 CIS per day (Paid weekly)

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Arborist to join an established operational team, undertaking arboricultural and vegetation management works across railway and infrastructure environments.
The Role
As an Arborist, you will undertake a varied range of practical tree and vegetation management activities, working as part of an experienced operational team.
You will be responsible for completing works safely, efficiently and to a high standard, following company procedures, risk assessments, task briefings and safe systems of work.
The role will include:
- Carrying out arboricultural and vegetation management works.
- Tree felling and processing.
- Chainsaw maintenance and cross-cutting.
- Vegetation clearance using brushcutters and strimmers.
- Operating woodchippers and associated equipment.
- Working safely within railway, infrastructure and other operational environments.
- Following risk assessments, method statements and safe systems of work.
- Maintaining high standards of health and safety at all times.
- Working effectively as part of an experienced operational team.
- Supporting wider site and vegetation management activities as required.
About You
We are looking for an experienced, practical and dependable Arborist who takes pride in delivering a high standard of work.
You will ideally have recent experience within arboriculture, forestry, vegetation management, infrastructure or a similar operational environment and be confident using a range of tools and equipment.
You will need to be:
- Self-motivated, reliable and hardworking.
- Practical and methodical in your approach.
- Comfortable working outdoors in physically demanding conditions.
- Confident working as part of a team.
- Committed to health and safety and following established procedures.
- Able to communicate effectively with colleagues and clients.
- Flexible regarding working hours, travel and operational requirements.
- Willing to travel nationally when required.
Essential Requirements
- Recent experience within arboriculture, vegetation management or a similar operational environment.
- Chainsaw Maintenance and Cross-cutting (formerly CS30) or equivalent.
- Felling and Processing Trees (formerly CS31) or equivalent.
- Experience using brushcutters, strimmers and woodchippers.
- Good understanding of risk assessments and safe working practices.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Physical capability to undertake a demanding outdoor role.
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
The following would be advantageous but are not essential:
- PTS – Personal Track Safety.
- Medium Tree Felling (formerly CS32) or equivalent.
- Aerial Rescue and Aerial Cutting of Trees with a Chainsaw.
- Experience in climbing, rigging or sectional dismantling.
- Experience operating a range of plant and equipment.
- Previous experience within railway, infrastructure or another safety-critical environment.

For the right candidate, training and development opportunities will be available to support continued progression within the role.
This may include opportunities to develop climbing, aerial rescue and aerial-work competencies, helping you build your skills and progress within the wider forestry and vegetation management operation.
