Welcome from the Principal
Welcome to Outwood Primary Academy Kirkhamgate! As Principal, I'm incredibly proud to introduce you to our thriving academy family. Kirkhamgate is a place where we ignite a passion for learning through creativity, exploration, and a relentless pursuit of excellence. We don't just educate; we empower our children to discover, create, and grow, both academically and personally, in a supportive and stimulating environment.
Our commitment to a holistic education is at the heart of everything we do. We focus not only on achieving high academic standards but also on developing essential life skills, fostering resilience, curiosity, and a love of lifelong learning all through our highly incluse practice. This dedication has been recently recognized by Ofsted, with our academy achieving an 'Outstanding' judgement!
The Ofsted report highlights several key strengths of our academy. For instance, it states, ‘Pupils thrive in this exceptional school and achieve exceptionally well’ and ‘The behaviour of pupils is exemplary. They are polite, respectful, and demonstrate high levels of self-control.’ We are immensely proud of this recognition, which is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our amazing staff and the fantastic attitude of our pupils. Another quote that really reflects our ethos was that 'Leaders have exceptionally high expectations for all pupils, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND)'.
Situated in the charming village of Kirkhamgate, our academy is a cornerstone of this friendly community. Kirkhamgate offers a delightful blend of rural tranquility and convenient access to nearby Wakefield, making it a lovely place to both work and live. Our academy plays a vital role in the lives of local families, and we value strong partnerships with parents and carers, working together to ensure every child reaches their full potential. If you are an enthusiastic and dedicated educator who is passionate about inspiring young minds and wants to be part of an 'Outstanding' school team in a wonderful village setting, Outwood Primary Academy Kirkhamgate could be the perfect place for you. I eagerly anticipate the possibility of welcoming you to our team and sharing more about what makes Kirkhamgate so special.
