7th Heaven is a much-loved cake shop and café known for [freshly baked cakes / handmade treats / a warm neighborhoods feel]. We're looking for a friendly, reliable Front of House Team Member to join us full-time or part-time, serving customers, making great coffee, and helping keep our café running smoothly. We are seeking enthusiastic and personable Front of House Staff to join our vibrant hospitality team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to deliver exceptional customer service in a dynamic environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a welcoming atmosphere, ensuring smooth service, and maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene. Previous experience in catering, serving, or hospitality is advantageous, but full training will be provided to the right candidate. This position is paid and suitable for individuals passionate about delivering outstanding guest experiences.
Duties
- Greet guests warmly and assist with seating arrangements to ensure a positive first impression
- Take orders accurately and serve food and beverages efficiently
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing guest needs promptly and courteously
- Assist with food preparation tasks as required, maintaining cleanliness and organisation in the service area
- Handle payments accurately using the POS system and process transactions efficiently
- Maintain cleanliness of the dining area, including clearing tables and sanitizing surfaces regularly
- Uphold food safety standards by adhering to hygiene regulations and proper handling procedures
- Preparing and serving coffee and other drinks to a high standard (barista experience essential)
- Serving cakes, pastries and light bites, and helping with basic food prep
- Restocking displays and helping with stock rotation
- Working closely with the kitchen/bakery team to keep service running smoothly during busy periods
Requirements
- Previous barista experience is essential – confident making espresso-based drinks (latte, cappuccino, flat white, etc.)
- Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices is desirable
- A friendly, can-do attitude and genuine enjoyment of working with the public
- Excellent communication skills with a friendly, professional manner
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy service times
- Flexibility to work shifts including evenings and weekends as required
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills in a fast-paced environment
- Reliable, punctual and happy to work as part of a small team
- Personal presentation should be neat and professional at all times
