About Us:
IWS M&E mitigates and manages risk from mechanical and electrical failures for a wide range of customers in the public and private sectors throughout the UK.
An established Principle Contractor and Designer within the MEICA Process sector, IWS M&E’s specialisms include pump diagnostics and refurbishment, turn-key project management, chemical dosing and control, and plant and infrastructure maintenance with emergency response.
The Role:
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Mechanical Fitter to join our team of Mechanical Supervisors and Assistants. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a variety of challenging projects for some of our largest customers, contributing to the delivery of high-quality mechanical maintenance and engineering solutions.
In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, assembly, maintenance, and repair of mechanical equipment and systems across a range of environments. You will support projects spanning environmental and energy management, plant and infrastructure maintenance, and emergency response operations, ensuring equipment reliability, operational efficiency, and adherence to safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:

Conduct regular site audits and inspections, identifying hazards and recommending corrective actions.

Support the development and implementation of health and safety policies, procedures, and best practice initiatives.

Deliver training and guidance to employees on health and safety requirements and safe working practices.

Maintain accurate safety records, reports, and performance data to support compliance and continuous improvement.

Assist with incident investigations and monitor the completion of corrective and preventative actions.

Work collaboratively with operational teams and managers to address health and safety concerns.

Support compliance with relevant legislation and industry standards.

Keep up to date with changes in health and safety legislation, regulations, and best practice.
What You'll Need:

NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or recognised apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering.

Valid CSCS Card or other recognised site safety certification preferred

Have the ability to read and translate schematic and technical drawings.

Experience of working in the utility sector would be an advantage.

Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter within industrial, manufacturing, construction, or engineering environments.

A full driving licence and there will be an element of working away with the role as and when required.
