About the Role
Reporting into our Facilities Manager you will be responsible for the safe and efficient running of our infrastructure and systems. This includes engaging in both reactive and planned maintenance of all rooms, public areas and facilities and being responsible for all back of house and public facing maintenance issues.
You will also ensure the completion of assigned projects and tasks at the Old Course Hotel properties, as determined by our Lead Engineer and Management Team.
You will begin as a Shift Engineer I, after completing the structured training you will be promoted to Shift Engineer II.
Your responsibilities will include;
- Be the ‘go to’ engineer for all reactive and planned maintenance requests, actively participating in the completion of all works
- Liaising with the Lead Engineer and Management Team on a daily and weekly basic to determine workload priorities
- Determine and interpret water, boiler, calorifier and plant equipment readings
- Carry out troubleshooting on all lighting, heating, cooling and plumbing systems.
- Carry out minor decoration, tiling and silicone applications.
- Carry out all troubleshooting on all tv systems, door locks and building management system.
- Isolate all electrics and water systems safely, to effect repairs
- Be knowledgeable in the operation of the fire panel, staff housing routines, risk assessments and method statements
- Be familiar with all hotel suppliers and preferred service contractors, to secure quotes for proposed jobs
- Responding promptly to on duty emergency that arise in any of our facilities.
- Participate in the Health and Safety and Energy Management of the resort
Qualified or willing to train to:
- Carry out pool plant operations and testing
- Carry out PAT electrical testing
- Carry out Legionella testing (flush & temperature)
- Working at Height and Rescue Team
- Asbestos awareness
To be successful in this role you will have the following qualities and experience:
- A valid mechanical, plumbing or electrical qualification is preferred, any trade will be considered.
- A good “all rounder” who can do minor decoration, tiling and electrical / plumbing troubleshooting.
- Minimum 2 years experience within a Maintenance or Facilities Team.
- Strong Communication, organisation, collaboration skills and strong attention to detail are essential.
- Full Driving licence required - Minimum age 25 years old for company insurance.

Shift Engineer I - £30,854.33 per annum
Shift Engineer II - £33,482.22 per annum on completion of training
