Duties
- Staff management
- Support recruitment, induction and training.
- Help manage staff rotas, annual leave and sickness.
- Conduct or support appraisals and performance reviews.
- Deal with staff concerns and day-to-day issues.
- Promote good communication and teamwork.
- Practice operations
- Help ensure the practice runs efficiently each day.
- Identify problems and help implement improvements.
- Support the Practice Manager with policies and procedures.
- Patient experience
- Deal with patient complaints and concerns.
- Monitor feedback and identify areas for improvement.
- Ensure staff provide professional and respectful patient care.
- Help improve accessibility and communication for patients.
- Quality, compliance and governance
- Support audits and quality improvement projects.
- Help maintain compliance with NHS requirements, CQC standards and practice policies.
- Assist with risk assessments, incident reporting and health & safety.
- Ensure appropriate records and documentation are maintained.
- Finance and resources
- Assist with budgets, purchasing and monitoring expenditure.
- Help manage practice supplies and equipment.
- Work with suppliers and external organisations where required.
- IT and administration
- Support effective use of clinical/practice management systems.
- Help resolve day-to-day administrative or IT issues.
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with data protection requirements.
An Assistant Operations Manager should demonstrate leadership, organisation, communication, problem-solving and people-management skills. They should be able to prioritise competing demands, remain calm under pressure and work closely with GPs, nurses, reception/admin teams and external organisations.
Pay: £15.00-£16.00 per hour
