The Role
You'll be carrying out a variety of stone conservation and repair works on prestigious projects, including churches, civic buildings, listed properties and historic landmarks.
Typical duties include:
- Stone repairs using specialist repair mortars.
- Stone indents and piecing-in.
- Masonry repairs and restoration.
- Repointing using lime mortars.
- Cleaning and preparation of masonry surfaces.
- Assisting with façade restoration works.
- Working safely at height from scaffolding and access equipment.
- Maintaining the highest standards of workmanship, quality and health & safety.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Previous experience carrying out stone repairs or heritage masonry works.
- Good understanding of traditional building materials and conservation techniques.
- CSCS Card.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Strong attention to detail and pride in producing quality work.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desirable:
- Experience with lime mortars.
- Heritage restoration or conservation experience.
- IPAF, PASMA or Working at Height qualifications.
- NVQ in Stonemasonry or a related trade.
