Due to continued growth and upcoming project requirements, we are looking for an experienced Construction Health & Safety / CDM Manager to support our operational teams and help maintain strong standards across live construction environments.
This is a senior, practical role. We need someone who understands construction sites, CDM requirements, contractor compliance and the realities of working in live, high-pressure environments.
The role
You will support the business with health and safety management, CDM compliance, contractor onboarding, RAMS review, site audits, client requirements and operational risk control.
The role will involve working closely with our internal teams, engineers, subcontractors, clients and principal contractors to make sure work is planned, documented and delivered safely.
Experience with CCTV, access control, temporary technology installations or construction site security systems would be beneficial, but strong construction H&S and CDM experience is the priority.
Key responsibilities
Review RAMS, CPPs, site documentation and project-specific safety requirements
Support CDM compliance across construction and infrastructure projects
Manage contractor and subcontractor onboarding requirements
Carry out site audits, inspections and compliance reviews
Support incident reporting, investigation and corrective actions
Advise operational teams on practical health and safety controls
Liaise with clients, principal contractors and site management teams
Maintain compliance records, training evidence and project documentation
Support toolbox talks, briefings and safety communications
Help build and improve internal health and safety systems as the business grows
What we are looking for
Extensive construction health and safety experience
Strong working knowledge of CDM Regulations 2015
Experience working with principal contractors and live construction sites
Confident reviewing RAMS, method statements and site safety documentation
Strong understanding of contractor competence and onboarding requirements
Able to communicate clearly with site teams, clients and management
Practical, organised and comfortable working across multiple projects
Experience in rail, construction, infrastructure or high-risk environments would be beneficial
Experience with CCTV, site technology or temporary installations would be an advantage
Relevant qualifications
NEBOSH Construction Certificate or equivalent preferred
IOSH membership desirable
SMSTS or SSSTS desirable
CSCS card or equivalent site access qualification desirable
Additional H&S, fire safety, temporary works or construction-related qualifications would be beneficial
