MadiganGill are currently looking for an experienced Foreman to join a major highway scheme based in Almondsbury, BS32.
This is a minimum 6-month position, with the potential for ongoing work. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day shift and managing a small team of operatives and contractors on site.
- Location: Almondsbury, BS32
- Duration: Minimum 6 months
- Start: Around 14th September, with some flexibility
- Scheme start: Monday 12th October
- Hours: 10-12 hours per day
- Working days: Potentially 6-7 days per week, depending on workload
- Shift start: 7:00am
- Rate: Negotiable depending on experience
- Carry out the daily start-of-shift briefing with operatives and contractors
- Manage and oversee day-to-day site activities
- Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with RAMS and site rules
- Monitor PPE, plant and labour requirements
- Manage a small site with multiple contractors
- Complete daily diaries, allocation sheets, inspections, briefings and toolbox talks
- Monitor quality of works and maintain accurate site records
- Manage site inductions and add operatives/contractors to the paperless MSite system
- Communicate effectively with the opposite shift General Foreman and daytime office team
- Ensure health, safety and environmental requirements are maintained throughout the works
The successful candidate must have:
- SMSTS
- Full clean UK driving licence
- First Aid
- Fire Marshall
- Strong experience working on highways
- Ideally, previous experience working on motorway schemes
- Experience running a small site and managing multiple contractors
- Strong understanding of RAMS, site rules, PPE, plant and labour
- Good IT skills and confidence using tablets, laptops and digital site systems
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
Plant tickets would be advantageous.
The works will involve the J Loop and K Loop, with both decks requiring:
- Site set-up
- Removal of asphalt
- Removal of kerbs and verges
- Removal of Systemmer barrier
- Removal of run-on/run-off concrete slabs
- Concrete repairs carried out by a specialist contractor
- Installation of new materials
- Waterproofing works
A tablet, phone and laptop will be provided for the Foreman to complete daily site records and other required documentation.
