The bit about us
The Arding Rooms is our award-winning private members' club and events venue, located within the beautifully restored Arding & Hobbs building in the heart of Clapham Junction. We've created a welcoming space where members and guests can work, socialise, dine and celebrate.
We host a variety of corporate and social events, from team building and training days, seminars and Christmas parties, to engagements, birthdays and baby showers.
We are looking for an Event Manager who understands that a successful event is about more than everything running to plan. It's about how people feel while they're at our venue - welcomed, looked after and able to relax and enjoy the occasion.
The Arding Rooms is open 8am to late, 7 days a week, so you must be comfortable managing a range of morning, evening and weekend events as required.
The bit about the role
This is a role for someone who loves the journey of an event, from the first conversation with a client to seeing everything come together on the day.
Once an event is contracted and handed over by our Sales team, you'll become the client's go-to person. You'll get to know them, understand what they're trying to create and guide them through the process, making sure they feel confident and looked after along the way.
Behind the scenes, you'll be pulling all the pieces together - timings, floor plans, menu requirements, AV, suppliers, staffing and all those little details that make a big difference. You'll work closely with our Hospitality Director, General Manager, Food & Beverage team and external partners to make sure everyone knows what's happening and is ready to deliver.
And when the doors open, you'll be on hand to welcome the client and keep an eye on how the event flows. It is inevitable that some events won’t go as planned, so you'll be comfortable if plans have to pivot, quietly sort any issues and maintain a reassuring composure.
You'll also make sure the relevant admin is are taken care of behind the scenes - deposits, invoicing and supplier paperwork etc.
Above all, this role is about making the process wonderfully seamless and enjoyable for the client.
The bit about you
You know how to deliver. You show up every day with energy, determination, and focus.
You're warm and confident with clients, naturally organised and notice the details other people often miss. You enjoy bringing teams together, are comfortable taking the lead when things get busy and you don't lose your cool when the unexpected happens.
Your standards are high, but you also believe hospitality isn't about being overly formal or transactional - it's about taking the time to build relationships. It's about reading the room and quietly adapting, so guests feel consistently comfortable and relaxed.
Most importantly, you care. You want the client to leave happy, guests to have had a memorable experience, and the team to feel proud of what they've delivered.
Ideally you have experience in a similar role for a private members club or premium hospitality venue.
Why x+why?

Whilst being a collaborative and ambitious bunch, we don't take ourselves too seriously. We want people to bring their personality to work, share ideas, learn from each other and also have a little fun along the way!
We welcome people from all walks of life - believing the best teams are shaped by different stories, experiences and perspectives.
