About the role
As Project Manager – Mobilisations & Internal Projects, you'll lead the successful mobilisation of new contracts while delivering strategic internal projects that strengthen how Get Set UK operates.
Working across Operations, HR, Recruitment, IT, Finance, Quality, Compliance, Estates and Learning, you'll turn ambitious plans into coordinated action. From contract award through to implementation, you'll ensure people, systems, processes, governance and operational readiness are in place so services launch successfully and internal projects deliver lasting improvements.
You'll be responsible for bringing structure to complexity, coordinating multiple workstreams and maintaining momentum across competing priorities. Success in this role means projects are delivered on time, risks are well managed, stakeholders remain engaged and operational teams are fully prepared to deliver from day one.
This is a home-based role with regular travel across the UK to support mobilisation activity, internal projects, delivery sites, partner organisations and stakeholder meetings.
What you will do

Lead the end-to-end mobilisation of new contracts, strategic projects and internal business initiatives.

Develop and manage project plans, implementation schedules, governance frameworks and critical path activities.

Coordinate multiple workstreams across Operations, HR, Recruitment, IT, Finance, Quality, Compliance, Estates and Learning.

Monitor project progress, risks, issues, assumptions and dependencies (RAID), ensuring timely resolution of blockers.

Chair project and mobilisation meetings, maintain action logs and ensure agreed actions are delivered.

Coordinate operational readiness across staffing, induction, training, systems, premises, policies and programme controls.

Work with functional leads to ensure recruitment, onboarding, IT, compliance and operational requirements are aligned to implementation plans.

Build strong relationships with commissioners, prime contractors, delivery partners, supply chain organisations and internal stakeholders.

Coordinate the implementation and testing of operational systems, reporting tools and documentation.

Produce clear project reports, dashboards and implementation updates for senior leaders.

Support project budgets, resource planning and commercial oversight throughout mobilisation and implementation.

Lead formal readiness reviews, project handovers and lessons learned activity to continuously improve future mobilisations.

Minimum essential criteria
To be considered for this role, you will need to evidence in your CV that you meet the minimum essential criteria below:

Proven experience leading complex projects, mobilisations, implementations or operational change programmes.

Experience delivering contract mobilisation, service implementation, operational readiness or business transformation projects.

Experience coordinating multiple workstreams across operational and corporate support functions.
-
Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience working collaboratively across departments and with external partners, commissioners or clients.
-
Experience managing project governance, risks, issues, assumptions and dependencies (RAID) using structured project management approaches.
-
Ability to develop and manage project plans, implementation schedules, milestones and reporting frameworks.
-
Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines simultaneously.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, including preparing reports, presentations and senior stakeholder briefings.
-
High attention to detail while maintaining focus on delivery, outcomes and deadlines.

Confidence using Microsoft 365, including Teams, Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint.

Ability and willingness to travel regularly across the UK to support mobilisation activity, implementation projects and stakeholder engagement.

Evidence of ownership, resilience and consistently delivering high-quality outcomes.

Desirable criteria
It would be helpful if you have:

Experience within employability, welfare-to-work, skills, education, apprenticeships, justice or other publicly funded services.

PRINCE2 Practitioner, APM PMQ, MSP or another recognised project management qualification.

Experience using Power BI or project reporting dashboards.
-
Knowledge of public sector commissioning, implementation governance or contract management.
-
Experience managing projects involving organisational change, digital transformation or service improvement.
