We are looking for an additional member of this care team to work with our client, an adult with cerebral palsy, meeting her health, social, physical, psychological, emotional, cultural and spiritual needs.
Join the team on a permanent basis, with ongoing professional support and training provided, working in liaison with the case manager and other professionals involved in our client’s care.
Hours:
Part-time working patterns are available.
We have regular shifts, offering you a mix of either day or night shifts to provide planned cover for the team, who are working a fixed 4-week rota. Someone with scope to work any day of the week, including weekends, would be helpful.
Working hours are 8pm to 10am (night shift – sleeping, with occasional disturbance) or 10am to 8pm (day shift) which could be split in five-hour blocks working either 10-3 or 3-8.
Ideally you will be able to work a mix of day or night shifts (10am to 8pm and 8pm to 10am) as part of your availability.
*If working a day shift, it is essential that you are able to drive a wheelchair adapted vehicle. For this we need candidates who are aged 25 and over.
Responsibilities:
- Once trained and familiar with the routines, you will work 1-1 with our client in her family home and in the local community within a team of carers using a flexible and adaptable approach to operate within the family dynamics
- Applicants should be happy to be around and to help care for our client’s friendly dogs
- You will provide a range of support, and assist with preparation of food, drinks and feeding
- Undertaking personal care and hygiene duties
- Help with access to social and leisure activities
- Deliver high quality care with a client-centred approach using specialist equipment available and respecting dignity and privacy
- Applicants will also need a full, clean driving licence, along with the willingness to drive our client’s wheelchair adapted vehicle, when working on a day shift.
Experience Required:
Experience of working in a care role essential, ideally also having worked in someone’s home. Full training will be available to candidates.
