JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE: Receptionist / Administrator
REPORTS TO: Practice Manager
HOURS: Various shifts Monday 1.30pm - 7.30pm, Wednesday 8am -1.30pm and Thursday 1.30pm-6.45pm. (You will be required to cover annual leave and sick leave)
Job Summary:
The GP Receptionist is the first point of contact for patients and plays a vital role in delivering a professional, friendly, and efficient service. Key responsibilities include:
- Welcoming and assisting patients in person and by phone
- Directing patients to appropriate services or clinicians
- Managing appointment bookings, home visit requests, and patient queries
- Processing prescriptions and handling Docman tasks, including coding clinical letters
- Referring patients to Pharmacy First and ARRS staff as appropriate
- Maintaining accurate records using up-to-date templates and systems
- Supporting the practice team with administrative duties
- Ensuring compliance with QOF and CQC standards
- Promoting a positive image of the practice at all times
- Any other duties as required.
This role requires excellent communication, attention to detail, and the ability to work calmly and professionally in a busy healthcare setting.
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Pay: £8.00-£12.71 per hour
