R. Plevin & Sons Ltd have a unique opportunity for a Financial Controller to join our busy team based at Hazlehead, Crow Edge, South Yorkshire (nr Penistone).
This is an exciting opportunity to join a market leader in the wood recycling industry and a manufacturer of animal bedding.
The work is varied and will require occasional visits to other sites, so a flexible approach to work and the ability to communicate with people at all levels are important skills required for the role.
Reporting to the Managing Director the main duties will include:
- Managing a small accounts team, setting objectives and overseeing the workloads
- Providing detailed hands on cover in the absence of the Accounts Manager when necessary
- Producing detailed and accurate financial reports (monthly trading accounts as well as ad hoc projects), reconciliations, analysis and management information, all of which will be used to support business decision making.
- Reviewing and evaluating production control information, highlighting trends and providing supporting analysis as required.
- Liaising with auditors, financiers and statutory bodies.
Key skills and experience needed to become our Financial Controller:
- Ideally with manufacturing industry experience, someone who enjoys taking on a variety of tasks
- Must be proficient in Microsoft packages with intermediate/advanced excel skills/ SQL skills/ VBA skills
- Experience of working with ERP such as SAGE 200 or SAGE 50 is desirable
- CIMA/ACCA/ACA fully qualified or recent finalist are preferable.
