About the Role:
As a Joiner, you'll provide essential joinery repair, maintenance, and installation services across council facilities and public buildings. You'll complete planned and reactive maintenance tasks, carry out high-quality joinery work, and support the Facilities Management and Building Services team to ensure safe and efficient service delivery.
What you'll be doing:
- Undertaking joinery repairs, maintenance, and installation work across council facilities
- Completing planned and reactive maintenance tasks to a high standard
- Installing, repairing, and replacing doors, windows, fixtures, fittings, and other joinery items
- Identifying faults and completing repairs safely and efficiently
- Following health and safety procedures, site requirements, and PPE guidelines
- Maintaining accurate records of completed works where required
- Working effectively as part of the Facilities Management and Building Services team
- Providing a professional service while working in council buildings and public environments
What We're Looking For:
We're seeking a skilled Joiner with experience in maintenance, construction, or facilities management environments. You'll have strong practical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to deliver high-quality joinery services safely and efficiently.
You'll ideally have:
- Proven experience as a Joiner within a maintenance, construction, or facilities management environment
- Strong knowledge of joinery repairs and building maintenance tasks
- Ability to work safely and follow health and safety procedures
- Good practical skills with excellent attention to detail
- Valid eligibility to work in the UK
- Ability to complete required pre-employment checks, including identity verification, references, and DBS clearance where required
- Willingness to complete required health and safety assessments, including hearing and hand-arm vibration checks
Nice-to-Have Requirements:
- Experience working within a local authority or public sector environment
- Relevant joinery qualifications or trade certifications
- Experience working on planned and reactive maintenance programmes
