We are seeking a skilled MOT Tester/Mechanic to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting MOT tests. Being able to perform mechanical repairs and maintenance on a variety of vehicles is highly desirable but not a requirement to apply. Responsibilities
- Conduct MOT tests in accordance with legal and safety standards, accurately assessing vehicle condition
- Perform mechanical repairs, diagnostics, and routine maintenance on a wide range of vehicles (desirable not compulsory)
- Identify faults and advise customers on necessary repairs or replacements
- Maintain records of inspections, repairs, and services performed
- Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and company policies
- Keep the work area clean, organised, and fully equipped with necessary tools and supplies
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to diagnose vehicle issues efficiently (desirable)
- MOT license class 4/class7
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in record keeping and diagnostic procedures
- Good communication skills to explain technical issues clearly to customers
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
