Job Overview
We are seeking a vigilant and dependable Security Officer to oversee premises during afternoons and night shifts. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining a secure environment, monitoring surveillance systems, and ensuring the safety of personnel and property. This role offers an opportunity to work in a professional setting with a focus on loss prevention and safety protocols. Candidates must be attentive, alert, and capable of responding promptly to any security concerns.
Shift times are based on a 4 week rolling rota, shift timings are 1600 to 2359, 2359 to 0900, 1400 to 2200, 2200 to 0800, occasional days at the weekend 0600 to 1800
Duties
- Monitor CCTV systems continuously to observe activity and identify potential security threats.
- Respond swiftly to alarms, incidents, or suspicious activities, taking appropriate action as required.
- Assist in loss prevention efforts by identifying theft or vandalism and reporting incidents accordingly.
- Maintain detailed logs of patrols, incidents, and observations for record-keeping purposes.
- Provide first aid assistance when necessary, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Enforce site policies regarding access control, visitor management, and safety procedures.
- Collaborate with local law enforcement or emergency services during critical incidents.
Experience
- Prior experience in security or surveillance roles is preferred but not essential; comprehensive training will be provided.
- Knowledge of CCTV operation and monitoring techniques is advantageous.
- Familiarity with loss prevention strategies is beneficial.
- Basic first aid certification or willingness to obtain certification is desirable.
- Strong observational skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently during shifts while maintaining a high level of vigilance.
