Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Night Senior Carer to join our vibrant care home team. This vital role involves leading the night shift, ensuring the highest standards of care and safety for our residents. As a Night Senior Carer, you will oversee the delivery of personalized care plans, supervise junior staff, and maintain a warm, supportive environment during overnight hours. Your leadership and communication skills will be essential in creating a secure and comfortable atmosphere for residents to thrive through the night.
Duties
- Lead and supervise the night team, providing guidance and support to ensure smooth shift operations
- Oversee the implementation and review of individual care plans, ensuring all resident needs are met with compassion and professionalism
- Monitor residents’ safety, wellbeing, and comfort throughout the night, responding promptly to any concerns or emergencies
- Maintain accurate documentation of care activities, incidents, and handovers in line with regulatory standards
- Communicate effectively with day staff during handovers to ensure continuity of care
- Support residents with personal care tasks such as toileting, mobility assistance, and medication management as required
- Ensure the environment remains safe by conducting regular checks of communal areas, bedrooms, and emergency equipment
- Administer medication to our residents
Requirements
- Proven experience in senior or supervisory roles within a care home setting
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team during night shifts
- Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with residents, families, and team members
- Knowledge of care plans, safeguarding procedures, and regulatory compliance standards
- Must have experience with administering medication and training indate
- Ability to work independently during night hours while maintaining high levels of professionalism and attentiveness
