Usual hours - 08:00 to 16:30 Monday to Friday all year round
Over time hours 07:30 start when the cook on holiday
Kitchen Assistant- to include washing up (commercial dishwasher), snack preparation, tea preparation, supporting nursery cook with main meal prep. Keep the kitchen area clean in line with SSFBB schedule. Food Allergy Awareness & L2 Food Hygiene is necessary (training can be given)
This role needs the ability to cook for the children at Nursery when the main cook is on annual leave - there will be specific diets to provide for & cater for up to 100 + children & babies.
Do you have the skill set for this task? Training will be given for the menu we provide - but basic knowledge of cooking and working in a kitchen will be needed. Making a sponge cake, custard, white sauce, bolognaise etc.
Lunch Time relief - usually 12:30 to 13:30 supporting the Nursery Team during their lunch break.
A DBS and 2 references will be required for this role.
Pay: From £12.71 per hour
