Overview
We are seeking a reliable and experienced 7.5 tonne delivery driver to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely transporting goods to various locations, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining excellent customer service. This role offers an opportunity to work within a dynamic environment, supporting the efficient distribution of products across designated areas. Applicants should possess a valid driving licence suitable for a 7.5 tonne vehicle and have previous experience in commercial driving or delivery roles.
Duties
- Safely operate a 7.5 tonne lorry for daily deliveries to clients and distribution centres
- Load and unload goods, ensuring items are secured properly during transit
- Plan delivery routes efficiently to optimise time and fuel consumption
- Complete all necessary documentation accurately, including delivery notes and logs
- Communicate effectively with the dispatch team regarding delivery schedules and any issues encountered
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after shifts to ensure safety standards are maintained
- Provide excellent customer service by delivering goods professionally and courteously
- Adhere to all road safety regulations and company policies during operations
Skills
- Proven experience as a delivery driver, preferably with flatbed vehicles or similar commercial vehicles
- Strong driving skills with a clean driving record and valid licence for 7.5 tonne vehicles
- Knowledge of current road laws and safety regulations within the UK
- Ability to navigate using GPS devices or traditional maps efficiently
- Organised with excellent time management skills to meet tight schedules
- Good physical fitness for loading, unloading, and handling goods safely
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high standards of safety and professionalism
Pay: £30,000.00 per year
