About the Role
Track & Field Academy Ltd is working with Capital City College to establish an exciting new athletics academy at the London Marathon Community Track in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.
We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic and qualified Athletics Coach to join our coaching team and deliver sessions to students aged 16–19.
We already have coaches in place for Mondays and Fridays and are specifically looking for an additional coach for the Wednesday 4:00–6:00pm session during term time.
This is a great opportunity to become part of a new academy from the beginning and help create a positive, inclusive and inspiring environment for young athletes.
Coaching Areas
We are particularly interested in coaches with experience in one or more of the following:
- Sprints
- Jumps
- Strength & Conditioning
- Multi-events
What You'll Be Doing
- Planning and delivering engaging athletics coaching sessions
- Developing students' technical skills and physical performance
- Motivating and encouraging 16–19 year-old athletes
- Creating a positive, professional and inclusive training environment
- Supporting student participation and athlete development
- Working collaboratively with the wider coaching team
- Maintaining high standards of safeguarding, safety and athlete welfare
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Current athletics coaching qualification, or currently working towards an appropriate qualification
- A positive and motivating approach to working with young people
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Reliable, punctual and professional
- Ability to work independently and as part of a coaching team
- Willingness to complete relevant safeguarding, DBS and compliance training
Desirable:
- Experience coaching athletes aged 16–19
- Strength & Conditioning experience or qualifications
- Multi-event coaching experience
- First Aid qualification
- Experience working in an educational or youth environment
