Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Sous Chef to join our professional culinary team. Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Chef in planning and preparing menus that meet quality standards and customer expectations.
- Supervise and mentor kitchen staff, including cooks and junior chefs, fostering a collaborative team environment.
- Oversee food production processes to ensure consistency, presentation, and adherence to recipes.
- Manage food safety protocols, including hygiene standards and proper storage procedures.
- Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service delivery during busy periods.
- Monitor stock levels and assist with inventory control to minimise waste and optimise resources.
- Support in training new team members on kitchen procedures, safety standards, and culinary techniques.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen area in compliance with health regulations.
Requirements
- Proven supervising experience within a professional kitchen environment.
- Extensive food preparation, cooking, and food production skills.
- Strong leadership qualities with the ability to manage a diverse team effectively.
- Excellent understanding of food safety standards and hygiene practices.
- Previous experience working in a restaurant or hospitality setting is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of menu development, plating techniques, and customer service principles.
- Ability to work under pressure during peak service hours while maintaining attention to detail.
- Good organisational skills with the capacity to prioritise tasks efficiently.
