About the Role
We are looking for compassionate and motivated Family Assessment Workers to join our team, supporting families to build safe, stable and positive home environments. You'll work closely with parents and children, providing practical and emotional support while assessing parenting capacity and promoting the wellbeing of children.
This rewarding role combines direct family support, safeguarding responsibilities and partnership working with a range of professionals to help families achieve positive outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide practical, emotional and parenting support to families in residential settings, the community and family homes.
- Complete high-quality parenting and family assessments, contributing to care plans and outcome-focused support.
- Support parents to develop parenting skills, household routines and independent living skills.
- Safeguard children by identifying and responding appropriately to any welfare concerns.
- Build positive relationships with families and encourage engagement with support services and community resources.
- Work collaboratively with social workers and partner agencies to ensure the best outcomes for children.
- Prepare accurate reports, maintain detailed case records and contribute to statutory meetings, reviews and court proceedings where required.
- Facilitate group sessions and family activities where appropriate.
- Support families with appointments, school runs and community-based activities.
- Participate in team meetings, supervision and ongoing professional development.
About You
You'll be a caring, resilient and organised individual with a genuine passion for supporting vulnerable families.
Essential
- Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young People's Workforce, Health & Social Care or equivalent (or willingness to work towards this qualification).
- Experience working with children and families in a social care, residential or community setting.
- Good understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
- Strong communication, report writing and organisational skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Flexible approach to working shifts, including weekends and waking nights where required.
