Gardener / Grounds Maintenance Operative

Our gardening and grounds maintenance division forms an important part of our wider property maintenance operations, supporting developments to remain clean, presentable, and well maintained throughout the year.
The Role
Core Maintenance is seeking reliable and experienced Gardeners / Grounds Maintenance Operatives to support our growing portfolio of new-build residential developments across the UK.
The role will primarily involve seasonal maintenance of private gardens and communal landscaped areas, including:
- Grass cutting
- Lawn care and maintenance
- Strimming and edging
- Weeding and general garden tidying
- Jet washing patios and external areas
- Installing timed sprinklers
Operatives will be required to visit multiple developments, complete works within agreed timeframes, and provide before-and-after photographs of completed works.
Our peak season runs from May to October, with workloads highest during these months. Additional ad hoc work is available throughout the year depending on client requirements and new site instructions.

This is seasonal work that may reduce as developments become occupied and properties are sold. However, additional sites and instructions are regularly added throughout the year across the UK.
Requirements
- Previous gardening or grounds maintenance experience essential
- Experience working on new-build developments preferred
- Self-employed contractors welcome (Must provide own vehicle, tools, and business insurance)
- Full clean UK driving licence required
- Reliable, organised, and able to work independently
- Ability to manage workload and travel between sites
- Good communication skills
From time to time, you may also be required to assist with other business needs, including:
- Jetwashing patios
- Basic handyman repairs
- Window cleaning
- Property cleaning
- Assisting at events
