The Role
This is a varied and hands-on role where no two days are the same. You will be responsible for carrying out electrical installations, repairs, inspections, and maintenance across a range of projects.
You will work both independently and alongside other team members to deliver high-quality work while maintaining strong safety standards and excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings
- Interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and specifications
- Test and inspect electrical systems to ensure compliance with UK regulations and the IET Wiring Regulations (BS 7671)
- Diagnose electrical faults and implement effective solutions
- Carry out preventive maintenance and upgrades to electrical equipment
- Respond to repair requests, carry out inspections, and complete work efficiently to agreed standards
- Assist with installations, refurbishments, and routine maintenance projects
- Ensure all work meets health, safety, and quality standards
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe and tidy condition
- Support other team members and work independently when required
- Represent the company professionally when liaising with customers and colleagues
Person Specification
We are looking for someone who is reliable, motivated, and takes pride in delivering quality work.
Essential:
- Qualified electrician (NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation / Test and Inspection 2391 or equivalent)
- Good knowledge of UK electrical standards, codes, and safety regulations
- Practical experience with a range of electrical systems
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable:
- Inspection and testing qualifications
- Experience across both domestic and commercial projects
Personal qualities:
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication skills when dealing with clients and colleagues
- Strong work ethic and reliability
- Physical ability to work in varied environments
