Overview
We are seeking a skilled Injection Moulding Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team. This role involves operating and maintaining injection moulding machinery to produce high-quality plastic components. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of fabrication processes, mechanical systems, and materials handling. Prior experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), CAD software, and tooling is highly desirable. Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and monitor injection moulding machines to ensure optimal production output.
- Conduct routine inspections of machinery and perform minor adjustments or troubleshooting as required.
- Prepare and change moulds, ensuring proper alignment and secure fitting using hand tools.
- Maintain accurate documentation of production runs, machine settings, and quality checks.
- Assist with materials handling, including loading raw materials and removing finished products safely.
- Perform basic maintenance tasks such as cleaning equipment, lubricating moving parts, and replacing worn tooling components.
- Collaborate with quality control teams to identify defects or inconsistencies in produced parts.
- Follow health and safety protocols diligently, including proper use of PPE and adherence to safety procedures.
Experience
- Previous experience in fabrication, assembly, or manufacturing environments is preferred.
- Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), CAD software such as SolidWorks or similar programmes, and milling or welding techniques is advantageous.
- Practical knowledge of mechanical systems, tooling, materials handling, and the use of hand tools is essential.
- Experience working in warehouse settings or performing basic maths calculations relevant to production tasks will be beneficial.
