This isn't your typical cleaning job.
If you're imagining the same building, the same rooms and the same cleaning routine every day, this probably isn't the role for you.
Our Daily Operations team handles the larger, more unusual and often more challenging side of commercial cleaning. One day you might be carrying out an industrial deep clean, the next using specialist machinery on a commercial site, pressure washing, working at height or travelling across the country for a larger project.
We occasionally carry out more conventional work such as end-of-tenancy cleans too, but one thing is fairly certain:
Rarely are two days the same.
What makes the job different?
You'll be joining an established team who work hard, look after each other and have plenty of laughs along the way. We're used to welcoming new people into the team and we're looking for someone who will become part of it rather than simply turn up, do a shift and go home.
Depending on the job, you could find yourself using equipment including:
- Cherry pickers and boom lifts
- Pressure washers
- Scrubber/dryer machines
- Industrial cleaning equipment
- Specialist access and cleaning machinery
Much of our work is local, but some projects take us further afield and we regularly work at locations across the UK. This can occasionally involve staying away overnight, sometimes for several nights at a time.
When you're working away, accommodation is provided along with a meal allowance.
We also believe people should have a life outside work, so wherever possible we keep weekends free for family, friends and some well-earned downtime.
A job for someone who likes variety
This role would particularly suit somebody who enjoys practical work and doesn't want to spend every day doing exactly the same thing.
Things don't always go perfectly to plan. Equipment can misbehave. Sites can present unexpected problems. A straightforward job can suddenly require a bit of thought and improvisation.
We therefore value people who are curious, practical and willing to think for themselves. If your instinct when something goes wrong is to wonder “How can we solve this?” rather than simply stop working, you'll probably fit in well.
What we're looking for
You don't need to arrive knowing everything. Experience is useful, but attitude and reliability matter just as much.
You will need:
- A full manual driving licence
- To be comfortable carrying out physically demanding work and handling equipment
- To be prepared for jobs that can sometimes be dirty, messy or unpleasant
- A professional manner when dealing directly with customers
- Clear and confident communication skills
- The flexibility to work longer days when a job requires it
- The availability to occasionally work away from home and stay overnight
- A willingness to learn how to use specialist equipment safely
- A practical, problem-solving attitude
- The ability to work well as part of a close-knit team
An IPAF licence would be an advantage, but it isn't essential.
About the hours
It's important that we're upfront about this.
Daily Operations isn't a conventional fixed-hours cleaning role. Our workload depends on the jobs booked in, where they are and how long they take.
Some working days may be relatively short. Others can be long. There may also be periods when work is quieter.
For the right person, that's part of the attraction: different locations, different challenges and a working week that doesn't feel like Groundhog Day.
For somebody who needs exactly the same hours every day, this role may not be the best fit.
Most importantly: the team
We're already a well-established team who genuinely get along.
We work hard when there's work to be done, help each other when things get difficult and don't believe that enjoying yourself at work and doing a good job are mutually exclusive.
We're not looking for a particular "type" of person and applications are welcome from people of all backgrounds.
What matters to us is that you're reliable, willing to get stuck in, comfortable being part of a team and able to have a laugh while still knowing when it's time to get the job done.
If you're looking for something more varied than a conventional cleaning role and like the idea of practical work, specialist equipment, different locations and being part of a close team, we'd like to hear from you.
